Playing God Wins 2010 Kingston Town Classic

December 6th, 2010

WA’s new turf superstar Playing God scored his third consecutive win at Ascot on Saturday, storming home in a powerful finish to claim victory in the $500,000 Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m).

After back-to-back wins in the WA Guineas and Aquanita Stakes, the punters backed the Neville Parnham-trained Playing God into the clear $3.10 favourite to win the 2010 Kingston Town Classic.

Ridden masterfully by Steven Parnham, son to trainer Neville, the Blackfriars colt come from their one-out one-back position to chase down leader Impressive Jeuney and turn the Classic into a scintillating stride for stride showdown.

Eventually Playing God dug deep and pulled away to score a half-length win over a gallant Impressive Jeuney ($12) while John Thompson’s Sydney galloper Trusting ($6) finished off the winning trifecta in third.
