Fuddle Dee Duddle Without A Jockey For 2012 Kingston Town Classic

November 29th, 2012

Fuddle Dee Duddle has been left without a jockey for the 2012 Kingston Town Classic after Joao Moreira cancelled his plans to fly to Perth for the $1 million race.

Moreira, who rides in Singapore, will instead honour his commitment to ride Super Easy in the Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin Racecourse on the following day.

Fuddle Dee Duddle will not be partnered with her usual jockey Paul Harvey, due to his inability to ride at the required 50 kilograms.

Part-owner Eddie Rigg revealed the search is now on for interstate jockeys who are available and willing to make the weight for the 1,800 metre event.

“He (Moreira) was keen to come and we started making arrangements on Monday,” Rigg said.

“But he has to ride at Hong Kong the day after the Kingston Town.

“It’s disappointing but we’ll work through it and find another jockey.”

Fuddle Dee Duddle will run at Ascot over 1,200 metres this weekend in preparation for her 2012 Kingston Town Classic run.

Theb filly has won four of her 15 race starts and has earned more than $315,000 in prize money during her horse racing career.

She won the Group 3 Champion Fillies Stakes two starts back before placing fourth in the Group 2 WA Guineas last start.
