November 29th, 2016

Co-trainer David Hayes has revealed that talented gelding He Or She will be ridden quietly in Saturday’s 2016 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot Racecourse, as the stable bids to improve on their recent run of placings in Group 1 feature races.

A former Perth galloper, He Or She has been a strong and consistent performer throughout his entire racing career so far; posting nine wins and a further six minors through twenty-five appearances, but has undoubtedly stepped up in class and ability since his transferral to the Lindsay Park operation in early 2015.

Confirming that up-and-coming hoop Chris Parnham will take the ride on the Kendel Star gelding in the Kingston Town Classic, Hayes revealed that he will instruct the young hoop to ride the six-year-old cold, before producing him in the final straight.

“He’ll go back this time and be ridden cold and he’ll run well,” Hayes told the Herald Sun.

“He’s a good, tough horse.”

He Or She returned to racing this year for second in the John Moule Handicap (1400m), but failed to fire second-up when tenth in the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on February 27th.

Responding in the best way possible when a strong performance for success in the Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m), He Or She was returned to the paddock after finishing a credible eighth in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) on Day 1 of The Championships.

Resuming this time for seventh in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m), the gelding out of Danessa progressed too third in the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) and second in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) before running third behind Winx and Black Heart Bart in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Stakes (2000m) on October 8th.

Having since finished fifth in the Group 2 Crystal Mile (1600m) and ninth in the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m), He Or She will relish a return to 1800m on Saturday and will carry 59kgs in the Kingston Town Classic.

Ladbrokes.com.au currently rates He Or She a $26 chance in early 2016 Kingston Town Classic betting markets.
